My work at the centre
Once children are brought to the centre I interview them. In doing so, I adequately assess their basic needs. I ensure that these basic needs are provided. I provide counseling to them on individual and group basis. I undertake individual and group therapy. Above all I write and update situational report on each child. The safety of the children at every time of their stay in the shelter is one of my core duties.
As a care giver I follow up the health issues of the children and make sure they are taken to hospital in case they are sick.
I train the children in doing domestic chores and ensure the personal hygiene in the shelter. I also assist the provision of breakfast in the morning before they live for school.
Since I am always fascinated by the horrific personal experiences of vulnerable, I decided to work in helping to alleviate the risk situation of children.
